Geotechnical engineering events around the world have shifted on the calendar or taken their education online, due to Covid safety concerns. The 2.5-day GeoU in Austin, Texas is focused on geosynthetics in civil infrastructure. The organizers have confirmed that GeoU will preserve its in-person character and has opted to shift the dates to 5 – 8 April 2022.
The event co-locates four geosynthetics short courses and features certification opportunities for all geosynthetics course participants.
Registration for GeoU 2022 is not yet open. Visit the event website at www.geo-u.com.
“GeoU was designed specifically to foster high-quality, face-to-face networking around the high-level education,” says Geosynthetica Content Director Chris Kelsey. “We are adamant about preserving that character and bringing back to the field a smaller, dynamic event.”
GeoU 2022 will be held at the Sonesta Bee Cave Hotel in Austin, Texas.
GEOU 2022 DELIVERS NEW ENERGY TO GEOSYNTHETICS
GeoU has been recognized as a welcomed change of format. It set itself apart from other professional development events by focusing on co-located short courses and significant networking. The “work hard, play hard” approach has attracted a number of luminaries in the field to serve as course leaders (e.g., Jorge Zornberg, George Koerner). TRI Environmental has even added its renowned geosynthetics CQA training course to the GeoU 2022 curriculum.
The GeoU courses:
- QA/QC of Geosynthetic and Compacted Clay Lining Systems
Instructors: Mark Sieracke, P.E.; Dr. Jeffrey Kuhn, P.E., and Sam Allen
