In his/her territory, the Market Development Manager responsibilities include:

  • Develop new clients
  • Specify and promote Solmax’s products to end users, engineers, installers and/or distributors
  • Maintain existing clients and repeat business in his sales territory
  • Find, in a continuous way, the market price for each product and suggest price strategy
  • Find ways to increase the sales of under-achieving clients
  • Maintain superior level of service
  • Maintain/organize all market information
  • Follow the Solmax’s procedures
  • Participate to the annual business plan review and budget
  • Propose sales strategies
  • Participate/support/work with the marketing, the customer service and the technical sales support department.
  • Meet or exceed sales budget forecasts
  • Meet expenses budget
  • Accept/follow Solmaxs’ values and ethic code
  • Accept/represent the Solmax brand and quality manufacturing


University degree in civil engineering a plus

  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience for manufacturing goods in the United States
  • 5 years of civil engineering-related function a plus
  • Experience within the geosynthetics industry a plus
  • Experience with sales of goods or services to the mining industry in the United States a plus
  • Experience with sales of goods or services to waste management companies in the United States a plus


  • Perfect written and verbal English
  • Spanish language a plus
  • Should feel at ease when organizing himself/herself travelling
  • Ability to listen to clients, to understand their needs and preferences, and adapt the communication accordingly
  • Ability to understand technical needs
  • Ability to specify with engineers

Other Characteristics

  • Products will be geomembranes (20 – 100 mil thicknesses) and laminated geomembranes
