The Shenandoah Valley-Herald has published a piece on the importance of best management practices (BMPs) in agriculture. Though the article is unfortunately vague about types of BMPs, the erosion control and animal waste containment issues connected to them are important. The state of Virginia provided $12 million for ag BMP support last year.
