ASTM International Committee D35 on Geosynthetics has published D7702, “Standard Guide for Considerations When Evaluating Direct Shear Results Involving Geosynthetics.” This new guide is now available as D7702-11. It is intended to assist designers and users of geosynthetics. It is NOT a standard; it is a guide. And it is not intended to replace education or experience and should only be used in conjunction with professional judgment.
