CQA Training WeekEach year, Austin, Texas-based TRI/Environmental Inc. holds a couple CQA Training Weeks. These events give engineers, contractors, regulators and others an exceptional professional development opportunity in geosynthetic and affiliated technology education and certification. Using a combination of classroom and field training (such as in TRI’s on-site leak location testing ponds), the CQA Training Week sessions offer multiple training opportunities, access to expert instructors, detailed documents to take with you, and the chance to sit for a Geosynthetic Certification Institute – Inspector Certification Program (ICP) recognition.

The next CQA Training Week will be held 16-20 April 2012 in Austin, Texas at the TRI Environmental campus.

Whatever sessions you choose to be part of, CQA Training Week gives you numerous ways to increase your company’s skill sets, gain a better understanding of the field issues, and earn the certification you need to better compete on bids.

CQA Training WeekThe core classes offered this round are:

  • 16-17 April: Liner Integrity Survey/Assessment (LISA)
  • 18 April: Construction QA/QC for Geosynthetic Installations
  • 19 April: Construction QA/QC for Compacted Clay Liner and Geosynthetic Clay Liner (GCL) Installation
  • 20 April: Geosynthetic Certification Institute – Inspectors Certification Program (GCI-ICP) Exam*

Companies sending more than one person for a training course are eligible for reduced registration rates. A government rate is available for the April 18 and 19 CQA short courses. The CQA short courses may be taken individually or as a package.

ABOUT THE COURSES

Liner integrity survey/assessment (LISA) is a growing remains a strong need in the field, and only one place is currently teaching these skills and certifying and auditing the specialists: TRI/Environmental Inc. in Austin, Texas. Through its TRI-CORP Liner Integrity Center (T-CLIC) with engineering firm I-CORP International Inc., electrical resistivity testing of barrier geosynthetics systems is being taught in both a one-day classroom session and one-day field session with hands-on training in test cells.

The Construction QA/QC for Geosynthetic Installations and Construction QA/QC for Compacted Clay Liner and Geosynthetic Clay Liner (GCL) Installation courses are each 1-day courses that have been specifically designed for those persons who have a need for a detailed understanding of proper CQC and CQA procedures for waste containment facilities. The course is an ideal preparation for the Geosynthetic Certification Institute’s (GCI) Inspector’s Certification Program (ICP) exam. These sessions provide a comprehensive understanding to those professionals who are preparing CQC/CQA plans, reviewing CQC/CQA plans, performing CQC/CQA observations and tests, and reviewing field CQC/CQA procedures.

* NOTE: All participants wishing to sit for the GCI-ICP exam must pre-register with the Geosynthetic Institute (GSI), which oversees the Geosynthetic Certification Institute (GCI), at least 10 days prior to the April 20 course. While TRI/Environmental charges a processing and proctoring fee for issuing the exam, GCI must be paid the requisite exam fee prior to the TRI event. TRI will not collect the actual exam fee.

All events will take place at TRI/Environmental’s Austin, Texas campus.
