Tech Note: Are you testing the reinforcement or the polymer?

When assessing the extent of degradation in a reinforced geomembrane, think whether the tests you are planning assess the impermeable polymer or the reinforcement. Clearly, mechanical properties assess only the reinforcement; but it may be the polymer that is degrading.
